mmm. Upgrades
The Christmas and New Year last year was spent trying to complete the necessary parts for my upgraded PC.
Previously, I won a motherboard from a launch event for Foxconn here in the Philippines last year. The motherboard is from their gaming line called Quantum Force, and the model is the Blood Rage (GTI) for use with a Core i7 processor for LGA 1366.
I was also provided with a 640GB drive previously by WD Philippines and it’s also going in, as the new primary HDD.
Thanks to some folks of ATP, I was able to source out one of these processors. While other parts were sourced elsewhere (which includes a Cooler Master V8 CPU Heatsink).
The upgrade involved replacing the old Intel Pentium D 805, 4GB DDRII RAM, Seagate 160GB HDD and Asus P5LD2 board.
I’ve left the power supply 450W Huntkey, Palit 9800GT 512MB video card, TV Tuner, as well as the Gladiator casing and Seagate 320GB HDD.
Here are some shots of the upgrade parts:
I’ve installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit to utilize the 6GB or RAM I have bought. Here are the screenshots of its performance:
